Role: Events Manager
Location: Longtown, Cumbria
Salary: Up to £35K pro rata
Hours: 32 hours over 4 days (including evenings / weekends as needed)
Netherby Hall Limited is a vibrant and exciting business that currently operates nine self-catering properties at the private and exclusive Netherby Hall, named Cumbria Tourism's Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year 2024 and 2025, together with Pentonbridge Inn, a Michelin Star, 3 AA Rosette and 5 AA Gold Star restaurant with rooms attracting food lovers from across the UK.
In addition, the business offers retail sales of Netherby Hall Gin and Rum and other unique products through two main outlets and an online shop, alongside a growing calendar of events at Netherby Hall. The company also manages three farms and is developing a new venue and accommodation project.
As the company expands, this is an exciting and rare opportunity for the right person to shape the future of the events programme and contribute to the growth of the business. The position will be based primarily at Netherby Hall and Haithwaite Farm, with occasional involvement at Pentonbridge Inn.
Role Overview
Your primary responsibility is to design, plan and deliver a dynamic calendar of events at Netherby Hall and Haithwaite Farm, ensuring each event runs smoothly, meets financial targets and reflects the high standards of the brand.
You will also oversee event-related logistics, budgets and staff coordination. Netherby Hall has a well-established events calendar, including the annual car show, open garden days, Absolute Classics series and New Year's Eve Ceilidh, with selected events moving to Haithwaite Farm in the future.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Developing and managing an annual events calendar, including weddings, corporate functions, seasonal celebrations and community events.
- Coordinating all aspects of event delivery from concept to execution, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Preparing and managing event budgets, monitoring costs and ensuring profitability.
- Contributing to financial sustainability through effective planning and cost control.
- Leading and motivating event staff and cross-functional teams.
- Providing training and guidance to ensure high standards of service.
- Acting as an ambassador for Netherby Hall Ltd, fostering strong client relationships and community engagement.
- Promoting events through networking and collaboration with marketing teams.
- Ensuring all events comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting for event performance and KPIs.
About You
You will be a personable and experienced Events Manager who thrives on delivering exceptional experiences and can work collaboratively with the wider operations team to plan and execute a diverse range of events.
You will be highly organised, commercially aware and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional standards.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven experience in event management within hospitality or luxury venues.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Financial acumen for budgeting and forecasting.
- Knowledge of PMS, CRM and EPOS systems is advantageous.
- Creative, detail-oriented and able to problem-solve under pressure.
- Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends as required.
