Learning & Development Partner
Employer: Innovia Films
Location: Wigton
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Innovia Films is seeking a hands-on Learning & Development Partner to strengthen capability across its operational teams.
This role sits at the heart of the manufacturing environment working closely with Operations and departmental leaders to bring structure, consistency and quality to training and competency management.
As the site continues to focus on capability, consistency and future skills, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Learning & Development Partner to strengthen and modernise the training approach across the business.
About Innovia Films
Innovia Films is a leading global manufacturer of speciality films used in labels, packaging and security applications.
The Wigton site is a large, complex manufacturing operation with a long-standing presence in the region and a highly skilled technical workforce. Safety, quality and operational performance are central to its success.
The Role
This is a hands-on L&D role embedded within operations.
Working closely with Plant and Departmental Managers, you will bring structure, consistency and quality to training and competency management across the site.
This is not purely a strategic or policy-focused position. It requires someone who can influence, design and implement and who is comfortable being visible on the shop floor.
You will take ownership of developing a robust and consistent approach to training across the site, including
-
Embedding a clear competency-based training framework
-
Standardising training packs and materials across divisions
-
Ensuring training links clearly to SOPs, process standards and risk assessments
-
Defining refresh periods, sign-off processes and accountability
-
Bringing greater central oversight to training activity currently managed within departments
-
Designing and delivering management and supervisory development programmes
-
Creating a clearer pathway for aspiring managers
-
Supporting both technical capability and softer leadership skills
-
Providing collective oversight and coordination of the apprenticeship programme and liaising with training providers.
The role requires someone who can absorb operational processes quickly, challenge constructively, and add practical value when supporting experienced managers.
About You
You will ideally have:
-
Experience within Learning & Development in an operational or manufacturing environment
-
Confidence in designing competency frameworks and management development programmes
-
A hands-on, delivery-focused approach
-
An understanding of the commercial and safety implications of training within production
-
The credibility to operate visibly and effectively across departments
This is a practical, visible role where impact will be measured in capability, safety, consistency and leadership confidence.
