An internationally recognised manufacturing business based in Wigton is seeking a Network Security Analyst to join its IT team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in IT support, infrastructure or systems administration who is looking to take the next step into cybersecurity and information security governance.
Working as part of a collaborative IT team, you will help monitor and protect the organisation’s systems and data while developing your expertise in security monitoring, incident management and international security standards. Training and professional certifications will be supported as part of your development.

The Role
Supporting operations across international sites, you will play an important role in maintaining the security and resilience of the organisation’s IT environment.
Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring network and user activity using security and analysis tools

Investigating security alerts and escalating incidents where required

Supporting security impact assessments for new systems or IT changes

Assisting with internal IT controls and audit processes

Helping maintain and develop IT security policies and procedures

Promoting security awareness and good IT practices across the organisation

Supporting compliance with international cybersecurity standards and governance frameworks
About You
This role would suit someone who already works in an IT environment and is keen to develop their career within cybersecurity.
You may currently be working as an IT Support Analyst, IT Analyst, Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer or Junior Cybersecurity professional and looking for the next step in your career.
We would welcome applicants with:

Experience working within an IT support, infrastructure or systems environment

Exposure to Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory or Microsoft 365

An interest in cybersecurity, IT governance and risk management
-
Awareness of security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint protection or data protection platforms (desirable)

Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, NCSC or NIST (desirable)
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, BCS, ISC2 or ISO qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential. Ongoing training and development will be supported.
